Ryan is a 6-year-old boy who often unboxes and reviews new toys live on YouTube. His Ryan ToysReview channel currently has more than 10 million subscribers. The channel is run by Ryan’s parents and the videos were shot by them.

According to Forbes rankings, Ryan ToysReview’s revenue exceeded US$11 million in 2017.

Ryan’s parents say the lucrative business began in 2015, when Ryan asked if he could be on YouTube like other kids. The first toy Ryan recorded was a Lego train series.

The original video Ryan recorded didn’t have much impact. But then, Ryan ToysReview channel slowly became popular.

One of the most viewed videos is of Ryan grabbing giant plastic eggs in a bouncy castle, each containing a different novelty toy. The video was shot in April 2016 and has been viewed more than 1 billion times.

“We didn’t know it was possible to make money in the beginning,” his parents said. The proceeds will help Ryan and his two sisters prepare for college.
